Holy Hip Hop Fun Day-
4/11

This was an awesome event. We love giving back to the community. The staff at the Prince Center is top notched. We were able to provide good music, free food, and plenty of exercise. We witnessed an awesome slam dunk contest and had the opportunity to meet Bun-B.

Cy Fair Highschool

Cy Fair Dance-
4/3/09

Tonight we performed for a good cause at Cy Fair Highschool. The students in there were bananas. They were definitely having a good time. Tre-9 performed w/ Cutz, we hit the stage, and after us was Von. We offended some people with our lyrics but it was all worth it. We planted some seeds that night.

The Farmer Album

The Farmer- Cop That

Clear Creek Community

Clear Creek Community Church @ Clear Springs
3/29/09
We had a good time worshipping with Clear Creek Community @ their Clear Springs location. The staff was phenomenal and we were able to play a bunch of basketball. We had a competition to see who can hit the shot from half court first and we lost to a staff member. I (Chizzell) hit the shot second. I think that Boyce is still there trying to hit his. We had a great time and we can not wait to go back

SXSW (South By Southwest)

This was our first year attending SXSW (South By South West). This is the biggest Music Conference in the world. Over 700 bands have hit stages in the last few days. We were in concert in the Theatre of the Carver building. It was a small venue that we had. Since this is the first year that they had this type on genre they were unsure of the response that we would get. Well Thank God we answered that question. We packed out the event in a matter of minutes. They had to turn people away, which made a lot of people unhappy. Especially those who traveled a far distance to see this showcase. I guess that will teach them to be early next time. Several artist hit the stage with the headliner being Lecrae. Lecrae is one of the most successful Gospel Rap artist ever. He is down toe earth, we do a lot of concerts together and he is always the same humble cat. All of his popularity has not changed him one bit. Some of the artist who hit the stage were: Blue, Dooney, Braile, Kaboose, Warriors, Much Luvv Fam (SOM, Tre9, Von Won, Gifted, Cy), and then Lecrae. The crowd was really energetic and really enjoyed the show case. Our team as a whole had a 1 hour set and our job was to set the stage for Lecrae. We have a strong fan base in Austin and it was encouraging to be 2 hours plus from home and see people vibing and singing along to your music. By the time we hit the stage even more people had come to attend the concert. These people were angry and things got a little heated. We had to stop the concert and tell everyone that we were going to have an after party down the street. So those who could not get in left and were the first in line for the after party. We closed out our set with a worship song called closer (thanks Laden). Once we finished they cleared the stage for Lecrae. They attempted to squeeze as many more people they could into the venue before he started. There was still not enough room for the people standing in the hallways outside the door- SXSW noticed the demand and fan-base of our genre. Lecrae really tore the stage up, he is annoitned and he captivates a crowd. EVERYONE was singing along with his set on every song.

After the show it’s the after party…….
We traveled down the road about ½ mile to Greater Mt. Zion for the after party. Lecrae was gracious enough to perform at the after party because so many of his fans were turned away at the show case. They put him up first and he tore it up again…..
The Much Luvv fam went up for a 45 minute set. The crowd was real responsive. Overall it was a fantastic weekend. I think that we really impressed SXSW, well I know we did. They have already confirmed a booking with us next year in a BIIIIIIG Venue w/ Canton Jones.

Street Gospel- Praise 92.1fm

Street Gospel- Praise 92.1fm

The night was not over we left the Woodlands she and made a 40 mile drive to Praise 92.1fm Radio Station. Dj Wiz and Dj Revelation asked us to come out and be interviewed for their show. Their show is on from 10pm-12am every Saturday night. It had been a while since we had been in a station interviewing. We really were not rusty at all. The questions flowed real well and we were able to talk about all of the things that we wanted to discuss. They played 5 of our songs throughout the night. The phone calls were ringing off the wall and we received a lot of love. At the end of the show we recorded some drops for the radio station and we let them know that we would make them a song. Stay tuned for more info and make sure you log on to Praise 92.1fm.

Woodlands Show- Reality Weekend

Woodlands Show- Reality Weekend

The Much Luvv Crew has been looking forward to this date for a long time. We have spent the last several weeks promoting this concert and man was it worth it. 2/7/09 was also my little girls’ birthday, she turned two. Our sound check was real detailed because we incorporated so much in the set. We really wanted to change our “normal” set because we have been there so much already. The kids were lined up out side the door at 645 they finally let them in around 715. The building was flooded with hundreds of kids (sorry don’t have the exact number). The set started off with Gifted, he spit a hot accapella that set the tone for the entire night, Von then joined on stage to hit em with a new song. Once Gifted’s set was over Von hit him with one of my faves, “Who is ya’ lovin’.” After Von blew it up it was your boys turn and we hit them with “Rep Christ”, we were not shocked that they new the HOOK backwards and forwards, after that song we did Fire Starter. The energy in that place was bananas. After our set CY came up and brought them all to the Circus. OOPS- I forgot to mention that DJ Primo was spinning on the wheels of steel. Tre hit the stage with Colcutz, they did a lot of crowd interacting stuff, and we did our skit to bring up the ROCK band Laden. Once Laden got on stage it was ON….The Smashed UP HIP HOP/Rock is really a crowd favorite. Tre/US (SOM)/ Von all have some remakes with the BAND. We closed the set with our emotional song CLOSER. We challenged the crowd to really make a commitment to pursue the things of GOD. One we got off stage we were tired!!!!!!!! The day was not over yet. We had to run and take pictures to announce the signing of VON WON. He is now a member of the Much Luvv Team.

YGTV Studios

YGTV Studios

This weekend we had the opportunity to drop by the set of YGTV and get interviewed by J Xavier. The entire Much Luvv Fam was asked to come out and fellowship, get interviewed, and perform a song. It was a small room with a nice sized crowd. The interview will show on Channel 55 in a couple of weeks. J asked a lot of questions about our current project (which drops 5/19/09) and what we had been up to. We had to the opportunity to perform You Don’t Know Me Like That and the crowd really enjoyed it. I will keep you informed on the exact date that it will air.

Where the HECK is Tomball?????

To the fans:

Well the Journey continues....all the way out to Tomball this weekend in a land far, far away:-) (Down a long scary road called Mueschke)

We love this the people at Rosehill church, Becca always treats us like family when we arrive. She knows we like basket ball so she opens up the facility before we perfom and she allows us time warm-up before a show! Twin and Chizz stayed after the show until about 1am playing one on one. It is an amazing GYM.

1st up was Litrodi and he set the mood for what was coming with his message of shake loose, following his act is the circus perfomance act from CY and he brought the entire entourage for the performance.

Next up was your BOYS (SOM), we did call& response and we truly showed we love what we do! The crowd was signing along with us, leaning back with us on Fire Stater and Reppin Christ with us throughout the show. Those kids have a lot of energy…..

Finally Tre9, the closer, taught the crowd how to dance "put your hands up, wave our hands in the air if you want to get it crunck and put your hand s down shake your caboose and pop your collar if you want to get loose!:" It was hit, but of course the message was put out their to change the music you place into your minds and you are never to yourng to serve Christ! The young people were great they put a smile on all our faces with their energyu and their love!

Until Next Time God Bless.......kepp movin on your journey!

SOM in a Movie????

We were asked to make a theme song for a movie called Building Bridges. You can check the song out on our myspace page www.myspace.com/soldiersonamission. The movie is scheduled to release sometime this year.

New Project- Keep the Change????

As you all know that we are working on a new project. This next album is going to be very special. We decided to go back and work with Wonderus again. For those who have been fans of us for a minute then you know that we worked with him on our first two projects. The Lord has given us awesome chemistry with him. We were going to title the album Life Support but now it looks as if we are going a different direction. The new “pending” title is Keep the Change. We have a lot of great ideas for the new album. I will let the cat out of the bag for a little news. We are going to feature Soulfruit, Yunek, Much Luvv Fam, and many more surprises. This is guaranteed to be the best project that we have done. A lot of songs that we thought would make this new album are not going to make it. We have roamed the earth-lol in search of production and have found some of the hottest producers from Miami to Houston to Africa (that’s right Africa).

Radio Interview for Dasouth.Com/Exciting News

It has been another crazy week. We have been staying extremely busy. Today Jon P and Chizzell knocked out a radio interview for DASOUTH.COM. You can check it out at www.dasouth.com under the radio section. We got good news another member is getting married! 3 down and 1 more to go- no pressure Wasso! Much Luvv has several albums releasing this year make sure you keep your eat to the street. SOM- We are dropping to a store near you on May 19th. God Bless.

A Soldiers Journey to The Woodlands

This weekend we had the opportunity to perform at Fellowship of the Woodlands. I want to go on record saying that is the nicest church that we have ever seen. We performed once on Saturday and multiple times on Sunday. We hopped in the Tank and made the 54 mile journey on Saturday. We were blown away by the facility; we performed in the “junior” high room which wasn’t very junior. It reminded me of AMC 30. It took the kids a little while to warm up to us but once they did it was great. Tre9, Von Won, and Colcuts were all with us and did their thing. We were missing one of our soldiers because he was celebrating his first wedding, we definitely missed him but we still held it down.

:::::YAWN::::: well we had to be back in the morning for 845am. Just imagine what time we had to get up to make that 54 mile tour of duty. We had a lot more fun on Sunday!!!! The special guest speaker for both days was the 1 man volley-ball team, Bob Holmes . This gentleman travels around the world playing teams in volley-ball by himself ! (we could have beat him) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9avdCs-snM. His record is like 16425-325. It is crazy how he is able to beat a team of 10 or sometimes they have 20+ out there BY HIMSELF! After freezing it was early and the crowd was still sleepy so SOM (minus 1) and Gifted woke them up. This was now our second time so people are opening up a little more. We bounced back and forth from the “junior” high room to the high-school room. The crowd received us really well. At one point when it was quiet I could hear my daughter calling my name “Daddy”. The whole purpose of the shows was to promote Reality Weekend (Feb 5-8). By the time the day was over all of us had lost our voices, but it was definitely worth it. The Lord moved in that place and a lot of people lives were changed. We are thankful for the opportunity and cant wait until we go back. Once I get all this pics posting thing figure out I will post them.
